Until the Countryman arrives, I'm thinking of ditching my trusty Honda for a pre-loved Mini Cooper S. Super excited about the go-kart handling, but worried about reliability, keeping it running, and resale value down the line. Anyone out there own (or used to own) a Mini Cooper S? Of course the resell value too when I switch to Countryman.

I had a 2019 Cooper S before and it's a really reliable car. Maintenance costs were manageable because I did them myself. No major issues on it though but we had to sell it for a Rav4.

Agree with this. If you have extra time, just do the maintenance yourself as it could save you some money. Besides, maintaining a Mini isn't that expensive.

Hey, I am curious what you did with this situation. Did you get the Mini Cooper S? Did the Countryman arrive?

I’ve had a Mini Cooper S for a couple of years now, and I’m loving the handling, it really feels agile on the road. That said, I’ve had a few reliability hiccups with the engine, especially in colder weather. I’m definitely keeping up with maintenance, but I’d recommend being prepared for potential repairs if you're thinking about getting one.
