Hi all,
I’ve got a 64-plate Countryman Cooper petrol, which I believe has the R60 engine since it’s pretty standard without a turbo. Lately it’s been using oil, so I’m considering replacing the PCV. Would that be a good move? A nearby garage looked for codes, but they couldn't find any.

Replacing the PCV could help, but I’d recommend a proper diagnosis first to be sure.
If you go ahead, avoid parts from Amazon or eBay...too much counterfeit stuff. Stick to trusted suppliers like Motor Parts Direct or a reliable local store for quality.

I agree with @Bearded Man! Getting a proper diagnosis first is key, it’ll save you from wasting time and cash. If it turns out to be the PCV valve, make sure you grab a legit replacement part. And after you get it fixed, keep an eye on those oil levels to see if the issue actually gets sorted!

Still on this..I am reiterating, make sure to avoid Amazon or eBay!!!

I’ll make sure to monitor the oil levels after the fix. Thanks for the helpful advice, I’ll definitely stay on top of it...
