"Only Front Wheel Drive Available Temporarily"

Ok, so I'm dealing with a weird issue on my 19 Countryman Cooper All4. It keeps popping up with this ‘Only front wheel drive available temporarily’ warning. The garage couldn't find anything wrong; but the message just won’t go away.

Anyone else seen this before or have any clue what could be going on? I'm wondering if it’s something to do with the battery or maybe a glitch in the communication with the 4WD control unit. Any idea?

Has the vehicle been exposed to any extreme conditions lately, such as severe weather or off-road driving?
