Just picked up my N47 BMW Mini after a timing chain replacement. The chain was looking pretty worn, and the DPF is completely clogged. I'm planning to get the DPF cleaned and the engine remapped. Any advice on what to look out for during the repair process or any tips for extending the life of the timing chain? Also, has anyone had experience with DPF cleaning on these engines?

If you don't hear any unusual noises, there's likely no immediate concern, especially for a newer model.
Timing chains typically don't fail suddenly. They usually show signs of wear, like rattling, as they stretch over time.

So, if everything sounds normal, the chain is probably fine. Just stick to a regular oil change schedule, ideally every 10,000 miles, and disregard BMW's recommended intervals.
