Stuck in Limp Mode After DPF Fix - EGR Fault Codes?

I recently picked up a 2013 Mini Countryman R60 1.6 Cooper D that was stuck in limp mode because of DPF issues. The turbo was shot (shaft snapped), so I swapped it out, replaced the oil feed line, cleaned the EGR, and had the DPF professionally cleaned. But now, the car’s throwing a bunch of EGR fault codes (4B81, 40E9, 4C9E, 40A4, 4987) and still goes into limp mode after about a mile or even when idling. Everything looks solid with the hoses and lines, but I’m kinda stuck here. Any ideas on what I should check next?

After all the work you’ve done, it might be worth checking if the ECU needs a software update or if the adaptations for the EGR need resetting. Sometimes after replacing major components like the turbo or cleaning the DPF, the car’s computer still uses old parameters, causing it to freak out. A trip to a shop with a proper diagnostic tool (or using something like ISTA+ if you’re handy) could help reset the system and clear those codes for good.

I hadn’t thought about the ECU adaptations. I’ve already checked the wiring, and everything looks solid; but I’ll see if I can grab the right diagnostic tool and reset the adaptations. Hopefully, that’ll clear things up! I’ll keep you posted once I’ve got it all figured out. Thanks!
