I just hit a monster pothole, and my front tire has some serious sidewall damage. My tires were due for a change anyway, so I guess I'll be shopping early! Are there any recommendations for good tire brands to replace them with? Safety is our top priority, especially given the rough roads here.

The only tire brand that I will suggest to anyone who asks me is Michelin, they make durable and premium quality tires perfect for even the roughest weather or roads. If it's a bit too much for your budget other brands are also available such as Pirelli or Goodyear.

Accidents do happen at times but can be minimized with extra care and the presence of mind while driving. But driving a car you love, and trust will make the difference. Then add a reliable tire to gain more peace of mind.

I've got those same Hankooks on my SE, and they've been great. I got about 14k miles out of the fronts before I had to replace them, but the rears are still going strong at 17k miles. And I'm not a saint on the road, so that's saying something.

I've found them to be great in all weather conditions. They're not the cheapest tires, but they're worth it.

As for all-season tires, I've had good experiences with Michelin Cross Climates, but I've never had them on a MINI.

Remember, regen braking means your tires will wear out faster than on an ICE car, but your brakes will last longer. And the stock Hankooks are awesome. I'll definitely replace them with the same tires when I need to.
